Is Drug use on the rise in schools?

In a recent survey it was found that marijuana is on the rise in school and alcohol is on the decline according to http://well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/12/18/growing-marijuana-use-among-teenagers-spurs-concerns/?_php=true&_type=blogs&_r=0.  More kids or young adults are moving to marijuana because of the more relax laws on it.  More states are making it legal, mostly medically, and kids think they can do it more.  Also, students are thinking that because it is used for medical purposes that it can't be harmful.  This is way marijuana is on the rise nowadays in schools.

Also on the rise in schools are painkillers.  According to http://www.webmd.com/mental-health/addiction/news/20140804/abuse-of-prescription-painkillers-on-the-rise-among-high-school-athletes-survey more and more students and especially athletes are using painkillers.  These are used so you feel better and will play better during games.  It said in the article that white males are the most common of using painkillers.  Also, that football players use them the most.  This makes sense though because they are getting hit the most and hurt the most.

Lastly, it is said in  http://health.usnews.com/health-news/news/articles/2012/08/22/many-teens-drinking-taking-drugs-during-school-survey that drug use during school is on the rise.  More kids are getting drugs and using them during the school day.  It makes sense because this is a time when kids are most with there peers.  In the article it said that 54% of students know how to get drugs/ that it is available in there school.  Drugs are on the rise in schools all over the world today.  How can we put an end to this?
